Screw Plug Immersion Heaters

A range of general purpose, Stainless Steel (Incoloy) sheathed Immserion Heaters for the heating of liquids, particularly popular with bio diesel producers for the heating of vegetable oil, or for use in hard water areas as a direct replacement for a copper element in a domestic hot water cylinder

Complete with 2.25" Brass Ring for mounting through a flat surface (access required to inside of tank to fit the ring) and a strap or chain spanner may be required to grip the ring

Note - only the heating element is sheathed in Incoloy, the thermostat sheath is Copper and should be treated if it is to be used with liquids which are agressive to Copper

FOR HORIZONTAL MOUNTING ONLY These elements are fully operational throughout their length so they should never be fitted in a position where they are not completely immersed or they may present a fire hazard

When used in other processes where tanks are filled and emptied during the process, we also recommend the use of a Level Control Switch to prevent operation of the heater when the level of liquid is insufficient to cover the element

You may need an immersion heater spanner to install the unit, this is available in the options below

To aid sealing when used with liquids which may permeate the fibre washer supplied as standard, an optional VITON Rubber O'ring is available in the options below

For ease of reference, our 60 Litre Conical Tank will accept a 14" Element, our 120 Litre Conical Tank will accept an 18" Element, and our 1000 Litre Conical Tank would accept a 36" Element

It is worth noting the amperage of the elements, when the heater is drawing its maximum current of 13.1A, this may blow fuses if you are using a standard flex and 13A plug, and so if you are looking to heat your liquid to the maximum temperature that the element can attain, thus increasing resistance on the fuse, then we recommend using 16A rated caravan / site 3-pin sockets for this purpose which an electrician will be able to install for you. We can supply a comprehensive un-fused fitting kit for equipment with a combined <16A maximum draw, details below
