Oilybits 120 Litre Biodiesel Processor Kit (Fully Integrated Model)

This component form kit comprises of everything you need to build a comprehensive a Bio Diesel Processing System, with Methoxide Tank, and Water Heat & Wash System. We can the kit "Fully Integrated" as it includes everything to enable production of biodiesel without any external utlity, other than an electricity supply. Water can be poured from Jerrycans into the water tank, emulsion breaking additives added, heated, and delivered under pumped pressure into the processor. Methoxide can be poured from Jerrycans into the methoxide tank, mixed with the included drill powered mixing propellor, and delivered by suction into the processor.

WHATS NOT INCLUDED;

The kit is not supplied with a stand for the tanks, we recommend customers build low cost stands from timber to make best use of the space they have available. We can supply a steel stand for the 120L tank in this kit, full information can be found HERE

The kit is supplied with an air inlet with adjustment valve for airflow, should you wish to attach an air compressor or air pump (not supplied) to purge your WVO or Biodiesel of Water and or Methanol. We do not recommend small domestic fish tank / aquarium aerators as they do not provide enough airflow to dry the fuel in a sensible amount of time. A proper workshop air compressor with 24L reservoir, OR a high flow fish tank / aquarium air pump (90-150 LPM airflow) will provide more than enough air to dry your fuel completely in less than 1 hour.

If you water wash then air dry, and filter your fuel, it is possible to achieve EN standard, or close to it, without using expensive dry wash media.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE - NEVER leave plastic tank reactors unattended and ALWAYS isolate power to the entire system when you are not present. If your reactor leaks, runs dry, or the element is switched on accidentally, then the tank will melt and pose a fire risk. Always keep a fire extinguisher to hand around the processor. BULK CHEMICALS FOR PROCESSING 625 TO 2050 LITRES OF WVO CAN BE FOUND HERE

Unlike other manufacturers systems, this kit features a 16-Element Oilybits Static Mixer, which will ensure a completely homogenous 100% mix of the ingredients going through it, leading to a far greater purity of fuel over standard "slosh" or "velocity" mixing, a Static Mixer can best be described as a rod onto which 16 small propellors are welded then inserted into a tube. The liquid going through the tube is then churned over and over as it goes past each propellor. The system also features a branch upstream of the pump, into which Methoxide can be drawn by the suction of the pump. By adjusting the valves to the Methoxide and Vegetable Oil Inlets, the mixture can be controlled so that the Methoxide is never "neat" in the system, and this thereby reduces the risk of flammable or excessively agressive liquids being present in the Processor

The kit is supplied with a comprehensive water washing system, comprising of a 60 Litre Conical Tank, 3kw Stainless Steel Immersion Heater, Clarke TAM105 Pump, Circulating Hose (For mixing of additives), and an Oilybits Water Misting Kit, this will effectively wash your fuel until little or no soap and methanol remains in the fuel, at this point the fuel should then be air dried using a compressor (not included) which can be connected to the methoxide inlet and controlled by same valve

The kit is supplied with a methoxide holding tank, comprising of a 60 Litre Conical Tank, drain valve, and 10mmOD Nylon Push-Fit Tube to connect to inlet on main reactor. When using Potassium Hydroxide we find that the chemical reaction, heat and fizzing is enough to mix the chemicals effectively, with Sodium Hydroxide though, you may need to find a suitable means of agitation.

The kit is supplied with a 2m Clear PU Lined PVC Hose, complete with a 1 Micron Filter with Mounting Bracket, a Self 2000 Manual Dispensing Nozzle, and appropriate quick disconnect coupling and hose clips. This assembly will enable fuel that has been water-washed and bubble dried, to be pumped straight out via the filter into a jerrycan for use immediately in a vehicle

The kit is supplied with a quick disconnect outlet which can be conected the above dispensing system, or to other post-production purification equipment if required, such as an Ion Exchange Resin Tower (not included)

Hose tails are provided with lengths of hose to form vent pipes to convey vapors from the main reactor, and methoxide mixing system, to outside of the building. We recommend the workspace is thoroughly vented regardless of this as vapor will escape from the tank regarldess and this must not be allowed to build up in an enclosed environment

The kit is not supplied with formal instructions, but pipework sections are supplied "loosely screwed together", so that the assembler can see how it all needs to be connected, which is as per the photograph in this listing for reference.
