10" Polypropylene / Polycarbonate Filter

A superb quality Particulate filter, well suited to the filtration of substances such as vegetable oil / ethanol / methanol / water / foodstuffs / bio diesel etc.

This filter has a clear Polycarbonate bowl so that the condition of the filter can be easily monitored, however it is worth noting that the clear bowl will succumb to the agressive nature of Biodiesel, leading to splitting / cracking, and so unless transparency is of great importance, we always recommend for Biodiesel applications, a Blue Polypropylene Bowled Filter, which can be found HERE

This filter comes with ONE disposable Polypropylene Felt Element, available in 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 or 75 micron, OR an 80 Micron Washable PP/Nylon Element

This filter should only be fitted with BSP Parallel male fittings, not BSP taper, suitable Hose Tails in BSP Parallel male can be found HERE

SEAL MATERIAL - This filter is supplied as standard with a NITRILE (Also known as BUNA-N or NBR) Top seal, this is the same material supplied with all other manufacturers filters of this type as they are designed for Water. If you are using the filter with Vegetable Oil or Bio Diesel, the Nitrile seal will eventually swell and/or dissolve, it is therefore recommended that a spare seal in VITON is purchased to replace the original seal once it has become squishy. Viton seals are available in the product options below

PRESSURE FILTER - This is a pressure filter, it is designed to be fitted downstream of a pump of in a pressurised line, if it is fitted in a vacuum situation the red pressure-release button on the top will be drawn downward by the suction and will draw air into the system

This Filter Housing accepts 10" Filter Elements, these are available Singly HERE, or in Multiples of 10 HERE

For all filters with screw-on bowls we always recommend the use of Silicon O'Ring Grease to aid tightening of the bowl, preventing pinching & scuffing and thus prolonging the life of the O'Ring
