Hazardous Area Centrifuges, Class 1, Division 2, Group D (NEC and CEC)

The Robinson Hazardous Area Centrifuges are designed to safely operate in hazardous areas that are deemed Class 1, Division 2, Group D. The centrifuges use an air-driven motor and explosion-proof switches eliminate the chance of electrical spark and potential accidents. Used for determining sediment and water (S&W) content of crude oil, the centrifuges are available in both heated and non-heated models.

The centrifuge is equipped with an air pressure regulator, with a maximum operating range of 150 PSI. The normal operating range of the centrifuge to meet ASTM/API relative centrifuge force (RCF) is 1630 to 1700 rpm. This is normally obtained at a range of 65 to 75 PSI and air consumption of 17 to 18 CFM. Do not operate the centrifuge at a speed greater than 1750 RPM. It is recommended that the rpm routinely be checked with a tachometer to ascertain the head velocity.
