Bairan 133-2 Multi Oil Burner 70-115kw

The Bairan 133-2 without compressor is designed for those who have access to a source of compressed air i.e 2.5 cfm. usually a silent compressor is chosen for domestic installations so as not to cause a nuisance.

The Bairan 133-2 is designed to smaller heater cabinets with a heat input of 70-115Kw subject to physical size and performance compatiblity.

The Bairan 133-2 is designed to operate on any waste viscous oil including hydraulic oil, engine oil etc and will burn very clean with no visible smoke. Elevated levels of ash will be deposited from dirtier oils, so more frequent cleaning of the firebox and flue may be required. The unit will also run on vegetable oil, but vegetable oil will tend to oxidise and leave sticky deposits on the internal surfaces of the heating tank, pickup tube, and throughout the nozzle, this will build up until the unit fails to operate, due to this being dififcult to clean out we only recommend use with mineral oils.

NOTES ON OPTIMAL SETTINGS:

We have extensive experience of running an STW and can advise on the following settings for reliable long term use:

Oil Reservoir Thermostat Setting60c (Motor Oil)
Air Control Valve Setting0-035-0.04 Mpa (at 2 Bar Supply Pressure)

In very cold climates or if the burner is sited outside, then it can be advantageous to add a heater to the copper pickup tube so the cold tube doesnt chill the 60c oil before it reaches the spray nozzle, and extra nozzle heaters to build in a level of redundancy to see your through the winter. If the standard single nozzle heater should fail then the oil will not atomise and the unit will lock out with a flame out warning until the nozzle heater is replaced.

For those whose installations have a positive head of oil above the burner, the oil may force its way through the gear pump into the reservoir and cause it to overflow onto the floor below it, if you have a positive head of oil above your burner then we recommend fitting a NC 220v50hz1ph oil solenoid valve in the line, conected to the pump power supply, so the valve opens when the pump is activated.

The air pressure range of 0.035-0.04 Mpa is a very narrow range to maintain. We have found that the supplied Control Valve will happily maintain its output pressure within this range if the air supply to the Control Valve is maintained at approximately 2 bar, if the air supply pressure to the Control Valve increases or decreases significantly then the output of the Control Valve will go out of range causing lockout with a flame out warning. In our own experience to completely prevent this from happening we have 3 air pressure regulators, set at; 4 bar at compressor outlet, 2 bar supply to Control Valve, and 0.035-0.04 Mpa on the Control Valve.

NOTES ON CLEANING OIL, AND OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT TO DO SO:

Your oil will need to be screened to ensure the burner runs optimally. We have extensive experience of running an STW and can advise that the oil must be de-watered (water settled out), screened to 50 Microns (using a filter such as a 50 Micron Nylon Monofilament Bag), and ideally taken from the top of the oil tank with a floating suction tube, to avoid picking up heavy sludge which will settle to the bottom - the heavy sludge is a liquid product of oxidation and cannot be removed with a filter.

If you wish to further purify your oil, which will reduce system blockages / deposits, and post combustion deposits in the firebox and flue, and associated maintenance, then the appropriate product to do so is a Centrifuge, we sell the Oilybits RPC-103 'Raw Power Extreme' Spinning Bowl Centrifuge which will spin out all water, solids, and also sludge, giving you a high purity of oil, this machine is shown below:
