The Velcon Hydrokit is an effective “Go, No- Go” field test designed to periodically check for the presence of finely dispersed undissolved water in jet fuel at concentrations lower than normally detectable by visual examination. This water is removed to ppm levels by properly operating filter / separators, Aquacon, and monitor vessels. Samples are normally taken downstream of the vessel, but they can also be taken at other points in the fuel distribution system.

The Velcon Hydrokit is designed to indicate free water in excess of 30ppm by changing the powder contained in the sample tube to a pink color. 30ppm is generally accepted as the maximum amount of water permissible when fueling aircraft. The Velcon Hydrokit is designed for “fail-safe” operation, with false negative readings unlikely. Almost any error in performing the test will indicate the presence of wet fuel. If the sample indicates the presence of excessive water, it is always a good practice to repeat the test on a second sample.

Supplied in boxes, each box containing 3, 25, 100 or 600 tubes. 1 tube is 1 single test.

LIFESPAN (Standard Hydrokit)

Parker Velcon Hydrokit have a lifespan of 12 months from date of manufacture.
Once manufactured they are independently tested, reducing this slightly by the time distributors recieve them.
The lifespan when they leave Oilybits Ltd will therefore be between 10-11 Months.

LIFESPAN (MKII Hydrokit)

Parker Velcon MKII Hydrokit have a lifespan of 24 months from date of manufacture.
Once manufactured they are independently tested, reducing this slightly by the time distributors recieve them.
The lifespan when they leave Oilybits Ltd will therefore be between 22-23 Months.
